The 2^nd Corum “Art in Science” award ceremony was held on Christmas Eve at Reindeer Children Home (RCH) in Taoyuan and Xin Chuan used bookstore in Chiayi. This year’s theme “Hi Vitamins, It’s Nice to Meet You!” is to continue the concept of last year’s theme “The importance of cleaning in epidemic prevention”, extending from external disinfection to internal nutrition intake and balanced diet, to boost our immune system and combat the virus threat.

Every award-winning child has received certificate and gifts (baby lip repair cream and Christmas stationery), provided by Corum and Fées. In addition, the champion, runner-up and the third of each age group have further received a scholarship sponsored by Corum.

Mr. Peimin Lee, CEO of Corum, said he wants to expand the scale of this art award by cooperating with more organizations to let more children participate and be encouraged. The director of Xin-Chuan used bookstore, Mr. Huang Jinshan said learning is the only key for disadvantaged students to change their fate. Ms. Xueying Lee, the director of RCH said she wholeheartedly appreciates this art award, for it is a great opportunity for children who seem to be hidden to show their artistic ability and potentiality. 

This year, we further increased 3 special sessions in the ceremony: (1) Analysis of Champion Artworks, (2) Sharing the Messages from Internet Audience, (3) Best Progress Award.

(1) Analysis of Champion Artworks: We invited the judge to give an explanation on the champion works and share the judge’s perspectives for all the students to learn from each other.

(2) Sharing the Messages from Internet Audience: We totally received 235 messages from not only Taiwan but also overseas. By sharing the messages, students can be encouraged and know that their artworks were really seen by the world.

(3) Best Progress Award: There are several excellent artworks created by the student who previously won the honorable mention in last year but become the championship in this year. We are so proud of them!
